Are
you looking for a home business to help you get out of debt? Well, you're

One of the biggest reasons people give for starting a home business
is the desire to dig themselves out of a mountain of debt. The fact
is that today's two-income families have less to spend than the previous
generations who lived on one income.
Here are some
interesting statistics from our local paper:
Consumer debt
and credit-card defaults have risen yet again. Foreclosures are up,
as well as car-loan and car-leasing defaults have risen as well.
Did you know
that every 15 seconds, an American files for bankruptcy?
Every 15 seconds!
In addition
to the 1.6 million families who actually filed for bankruptcy, economists
estimate that an additional 11 million families are carrying so much
debt that they should file for bankruptcy.
Here are some
other facts:
- Having a child is now
the single best predictor that a person will go bankrupt.
- This year more children
will live through their parents' bankruptcy than their parents'
divorce.
- Even with record-low
interest rates, the foreclosure rate more than tripled during the
part 25 years.
- The median family will
only save 1% this year, while shouldering 12% in consumer debt.
If you are facing
money challenges, you can become more profitable in two ways:
- Increase income
- Decrease debt
There
are many tools available to learn how to decrease debt. One of the best
I've found is a free
online audio seminar conducted by a Chartered Financial Consultant.
It runs about 17 minutes and gives a good basis for learning how you
can eliminate debt from your life.
Even
with a plan to decrease debt, the number of years it will take to become
debt free can be discouraging. That's where the other factor comes into
play.
Increasing
your family income - whether taking on another job or starting a home
business - is a way to increase the income available to pay off debts.
The
key is to pretend that income isn't even there - dedicate 100% of it
to your bills. Once you get used to spending that money instead, you'll
have the same - or even greater problem.
You
don't have to become a statistic. There are things you can do - starting
today - to reduce the debt in your life.
