Have You Recruited a Recruiter Lately?©MMI, Debbi Bressler, ProfitCoaches.com About a month ago I had a nice, long conversation with a recruiter who had called my husband about a job opening. We were talking about how long companies are taking to make decisions, etc. She said, If you think its bad now, you should have seen the spring. I was ready to give up and just stay home with my kids. Of course, the flag went up and - end of story - I recruited the recruiter. With the economy in the shape it is, jobs are scare. If you are paid by placing people in jobs, your income has plummeted. Most recruits are on straight commission or a small base with commission. They are STARVING right now. What do recruiters do in their jobs? Talk to people on the phone. Ask probing questions to verify that they are suited for a particular position. Cold call for new business. If you are a recruiter - you cannot be shy. These people do not have phone phobia - they are used to being paid on production - and they need to learn about a new opportunity in which to use their skills. So go out and
