Refuse To Quit!©MMII, Debbi Bressler, ProfitCoaches.com On the news last night, they featured a policeman who had been shot three times in the head in 1993. The surgeon said there was about a 98% chance he would die. News footage showed him hobbling out of the hospital many months later on the arms of his parents. Fast forward to today. He is a successful businessman - owns two business and numerous rental properties. Aside from a glass eye, you would never know he had every gone through so much trauma. They were interviewing him about his remarkable and slow recovery over the last 8 years. His response: I refused to quit! He stated that when he was shot, he willed himself to keep his eyes open and remain conscious, though it would have been easier to close them and escape the pain because he REFUSED TO QUIT. When he had to teach himself to read, write and walk all over again he did it over and over and over and over because he REFUSED TO QUIT. Rather than sit back, collect his disability, and feel sorry for himself he continually pushed himself (as painful as it was) because he REFUSED TO QUIT. When the interviewer asked, I understand everything you are saying, but how did you manage to NOT quit with everything you faced? His comment: I refused to let the ass hole that shot me get the best of me. Now, if this guy can do it with all the adversity he faced, why do we give up? Who has gotten the better of you?
Take a tip from this officer and declare - this moment - that you will not let this person or persons get the best of you. Refuse
