is being your own boss. But....what if you have never been a boss. If
you work your business spare time instead of part time maybe, just maybe....
If You Can't
Treat It As A Business,
Treat It As a Job!

Perhaps the
treat it as a business is confusing for people, as most have only worked
jobs all their lives.
Lets assume
you need money and decide instead to get a part time sales job. Your
employer would expect you to:
- Keep regular, consistent
hours
- Follow the boss instructions
- Spend your time during
the activities for which you are paid, i.e. read the company safety
manual on your own time
- Approach potential
customers
- Share the company's
products and services with them
- Follow up with them
- Attend company meetings
and trainings
- The boss will not accept
I had to go somewhere with the kids or I didn't have the time as
an excuse not to show up for work.
If you don't
at least do this in your job, you will soon be gone.
My daughter
just got a second part-time job (managing the power tool department
at Home Depot!) and heroes what she has to do:
- Clock in and out.
- She cant be late to
work.
- She has to approach
customers. If they are looking for something she cant point....she
walks them to that area.
- She explains the products
to them.
- She has to follow her
boss instructions.
- She demonstrates power
tools.
- The other day she had
to be at work at 6AM for a company meeting.
The problem
is NOT in semantics. Most NWM companies and/or sponsors have a laid
out system or plan for people to follow. Success or failure many times
depends on the reps willingness to commit and follow a plan.
If many had
the same habits in a job as they do in building their business, they
would be FIRED! NWM doesn't fire you. You'll just eventually fade away.
A boss holds you accountable. Many people do not hold themselves accountable
in their own business.
So, ask yourself.
If my sponsor was my boss instead, would he/she keep me around?
